Henrico County woman charged in girlfriend’s slaying

HIGHLAND SPRINGS, Va. (AP) — A woman has been charged with killing her girlfriend in their Highland Springs townhouse in Henrico County.

Local news outlets report that Richmond police say 33-year-old Sheena Yolonda Wilson is charged with second-degree murder in the death of 26-year-old Ava Latae Tucker.

Police say Wilson walked into their police department Thursday morning and told officers to go check on Tucker, who she lived with at the Viviana Hall townhomes.

WWBT-TV reports that Wilson said there was an altercation with the victim.

Officers arriving at the scene say they found Tucker dead in bed. Officials haven’t said how the victim died.

It’s unclear whether Wilson has an attorney.
