Virginia Tech unveils plan for new business complex

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Virginia Tech officials have unveiled a plan for a $225 million Global Business and Analytics Complex on campus.

The complex will primarily benefit the Pamplin College of Business, as well as the Data Analytics and Decision Sciences Destination Area.

The plan will encompass four new buildings on the university’s Blacksburg campus, including two academic buildings and two residential buildings that will accommodate roughly 700 students. University officials say construction could begin by 2020. One of the academic buildings will be Pamplin’s new administrative home, while the other will host open work spaces for collaborative projects.

The university will request $70 million in state funds and raise the same amount in private donations.
