NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (AP) — Newport News police have identified a woman who was fatally shot and her attacker, who shot and killed himself after a police chase.
The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Naisha Singleton. The suspect has been identified as 32-year-old Reginald Langley.
Police say the incident occurred just after 10 p.m. on Friday when they found a woman fatally shot on the 1100 block of 32nd street.
Officers identified Langley as a suspect and began following his car, which he ultimately crashed.
Police say when officers approached Langley they saw that he was suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
He died at the hospital.
